In conjunction with the 90th Anniversary of DID Malaysia and the World Rivers Day 2022, a national-level celebration was held at the Muda River Basin Management Office, Kota Kuala Muda, Kedah. The theme of World Rivers Day 2022 was “Waterways in Our Community.” The Honorable Minister of Environment and Water Malaysia, YB Dato’ Sri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man, officiated the event. Also present at the program was the Honorable Dato’ Suraya Yaacob (represents the Honorable Chief Minister of Kedah), the Chairman of the Public Works, Water Supply, Water Resources, and Energy Committee of the Kedah State Government, YBhg. Dato’ Seri Ir. Dr. Zaini Ujang (Secretary General of the Ministry of Environment and Water), Mr. Muhamad Mahazi Haji Ibrahim (Director of the Economic Planning Division of Kedah), YBhg. Dato’ Ir. Dr. Md. Nasir Bin Md. Noh (Director General of DID Malaysia), YBhg. Datuk Haji Md. Shuhaimie Bin Abdul Rahman (Kuala Muda District Officer), YBrs. Ir. Haji Nasser bin Salim (Director of Kedah Darul Aman State Irrigation and Drainage Department), top management of DID Malaysia, YM Tengku Zamri bin Raja Zainal Abidin (Operational Director of Muda River Basin Office (PLSM)), and directors from various divisions of DID Malaysia.
 
In regards to the 90th anniversary of the establishment of DID Malaysia (1932 – 2022), the Ministry of Environment and Water (KASA) has acknowledged DID as the leading player in the face of climate change, natural disasters, and global economic uncertainty. DID Malaysia would continue to be more creative and innovative in dealing with water and environmental issues at the global and international levels.
 
The Kedah Darul Aman State, through its Department of Irrigation and Drainage and other state agencies, also conducted many activities and programs during the event.
