HTC KL has organised a Workshop on Introduction to Ecohydrology Module with Malaysia Universities on September 12th, 2022 at the International Science, Technology & Innovation Centre (ISTIC), Kuala Lumpur. The workshop was officiated by Ir. Ratna Rajah Sivapiragasam, Director of HTC KL and attended by the speakers, participants of the workshop and HTC KL staffs. Among the speakers and facilitators are:

1. Ir. Dr. Norlida binti Mohd. Dom – Humid Tropics Centre Kuala Lumpur (HTC KL)

2. Ir. Dr. Safari bin Mat Desa – National Water Research Institute of Malaysia (NAHRIM)

3. Prof Madya Ir. Dr. Mohd Adib bin Mohammad Razi – Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM)

4. Prof. Madya Dr. Siti Nazahiyah binti Rahmat – Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM)

The workshop’s goals are as follows:

(i) To promote the concept of Ecohydrology at Malaysia level, primarily through Malaysia universities;

(ii) Obtaining input and methods from Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM), Malaysia’s only university that has created the subject successfully;

(iii) Create a procedure that all Malaysia universities can use to offer Ecohydrology subjects/courses.

(iv) Making HTC KL a better platform for universities to learn more about Ecohydrology on a national and international level through the UNESCO Water Centre network.

(v) Produce skilled graduates with clear knowledge of the concept of Ecohydrology, which is currently in the forefront of sustainable development in relation to The Water Sector Transformation 2040 (WST 2040).
